Thanks to everyone who came out for May the 4th and made it such a fun and special occasion!!!!!

Next up is Preschool Summer Build and Play Weeks starting the Tuesday after Memorial Day. We still have a little space left and a great team of teachers who will be on board for a great four weeks of independent stations, build time, crafts, outdoor large motor and tons of goofy fun! Details for this program are listed below.

So we really have to try to remember that the website is here, lol!
Since we last checked in to write up the next things happening, we had a MLK JR Build Day, some February Break build days, we are currently doing a three-week mini Spring Fling Build Week, and our summer build weeks are already full.

We still have space in our Preschool Summer 2024 Build Weeks which will start after Memorial Day and end on June 21st. These four weeks are for children moving up from a fours preschool program or entering kindergarten in the fall of 2024. To qualify, your child must be able to function well independently at multiple free choice stations. These weeks are ideal for kiddos who love brick-based toys, but also for those who don't -there are many options throughout the morning. See the flyer below for more details.

The three Build Weeks for school age kids in July and August are full and closed.


2024 31Bricks Preschool Summer Program
 
Come join us for a great summer of building fun and friendships! Lots to choose from: our days include self-directed play areas, stations of guided play with teachers, piles of bricks, new options daily, display gallery, arts and crafts, and plenty of inside/outdoor active time. All times held at Risen Christ Church, 1000 Moseley Rd, Fairport.
The following four weeks of 2024 Build and Play Weeks are for children moving up from a four-year-old/KB program (at Risen Christ or elsewhere) in the 2023-2024 schoolyear:
 
5/28-5/31  Week One (four days)
6/03-6/07  Week Two (five days)
6/10-6/14  Week Three (five days)
6/17-6/21  Week Four (five days) (we will have session on June 19 and older siblings/alumni are invited to join us for free)
 
This year, there will be four basic landscape areas that will run continuously through all the weeks of our summer schedule. These areas are: forest/jungle, ocean, space and city. All our themes and building will fit in to one or more of these areas.
 
Activities will include but are not limited to: vehicles, ball zone, animals, colors shapes and sizes, book nook, brick lab (LEGO® free build area), Calico Critters, racetrack, art station, service projects, nature, beanie baby tent, circle time, Friends theme bricks and sets, DUPLO® options, LEGO® sets, kids’ ideas, etc.
 
Building bricks and a variety of other materials used each week. Plenty of options for kids who love LEGO® bricks, and those who don’t. The drop-off and pick-up procedure will be covered in our program details for those who choose to attend. Priority for filling our slots will go to RCP attendees.
 
Our program morning runs from 9:30AM to 12PM each day. Only full weeks are available this year. Snack provided.

We are very word of mouth for filling our program events, so we often forget that our website is even here... Dear me!!!!!

So, just for fun, we will say, that we had super fun over the summer in June, July and August building with dozens of builder friends. Then in October, November and December, we have enjoyed having everyone back for some fall and holiday building as well, finishing the year strongly with two days of Winter Wonderland building during the break week!

We will be posting soon what our summer calendar will look like and what our build week themes will be. In the meantime, we will tell you that we tentatively plan the following for 2024 -

April 8, it will be Eclipse Day! Probably no build since we'll all be outside, but maybe we can honor the day with something fun like an eclipse phases build! We'll post about that later.
May 4, Saturday - Family Build Day to honor May the Fourth! This will be a Star Wars focused build and activity day!!! All ages welcome.

The following three weeks of July/August 2023 Build Days are generally for those who are ages 5-11:
 
7/10-7/14  Week One – Worlds of Wonder (aka The World is Lava and Other Stuff) Themes – oceans, creatures, volcanoes, strange new lands, minifigures, dinosaurs, islands, kids in motion, bricks and more!
8/14-8/18  Week Two – Minifigures on the Move (aka Brick People Cruising These City Streets) Themes -  people, cars, modular builds, minifigures, city discoveries, other vehicles, buildings, stories, streets, superheroes, kids in motion, bricks and more!
8/21-8/25  Week Three – Bricktacular Celebration (aka Kids Who Build Are Awesome) Themes – constructing, creativity, building, art, inventing, containing zoo escapees, imagination, exploration, minifigures, kids in motion, bricks and more!
 
Building bricks and a variety of other materials used each week. This program is best for kids who love LEGO® bricks. We’ll do fresh air brain breaks in addition to concentrated build time. The drop-off and pick-up procedure and other specifics will be covered in our information details for those who choose to attend. These will be emailed closer to our actual program times. Priority for filling our slots will go to past attendees.
 
Our program morning runs from 9:30AM to 12PM each day. Only full weeks are available this year.

I just made those up so we'll develop that a little more in the next month or two. The dates are correct, the themes are a work in progress...  As always, there will be a packed room of open build, loads of sets, brick challenges, brain break activities, theme-related special builds, tech table, and also outdoor active time. 
Brick weeks will be 9:30AM to NOON daily.
Only full weeks will be offered again this year.

Covid-19 protocols will be followed similar to those used during the school year. Most of our adult workers are staff members at Risen Christ Preschool. Priority for filling our slots will go to RCP attendees.
