Hi everyone! It's been a while since we posted some news so we'll do two posts now. :) We had eight packed build days spread between Black Friday and New Year's at the end of 2021, and had so much holiday fun with our LEGO enthusiasts ages 5-11. Those build days didn't make it on to the website because they were filled beyond capacity very quickly from our mailing list.
We wish everyone a happy, healthy 2022, and we certainly hope that we can get back to a full calendar of events in the near future. For now, we have decided not to have birthday parties temporarily, since community health is still largely impacted by the pandemic. We have not decided yet about school break build days in February and April. February would be a last minute plan at this point, but if some of our regular builders express interest, we might host some build days during the February 21-25 days off. You can email us at [email protected] to check if we will hold a couple of builds that week. We do have our plans made for our summer build weeks and we'll post those next!

Finally, we are back at it with two summer activity weeks for builders ages 5-10! We will follow protocols of health and safety regarding Covid-19. This means we will have a slightly shorter brick morning and no snack time. We will also require masks, unless some big changes come to what is generally required in NYS. We will send other instructions by email for those who sign up, regarding pick up and drop off procedures and other details. Our bricks and other supplies are either individual use, or sanitized daily, and/or rotated for safe handling.
Sessions are daily, 9:30AM-12Noon Monday-Friday for the weeks listed. $100/week. No day only option this year. August 9-13, 2021 Week One - Mission Brickpossible! This activity week will focus on creative brick tasks and building missions. August 16-20, 2021 Week Two - MegaBuilds! This activity week will focus on using teamwork and individual building to fill our space with city blocks, unique structures, fun mini-figure citizens, and creative vehicles. As usual, our activity weeks take place at Risen Christ Church, 1000 Moseley Road (Rte 250) in Fairport. Activity weeks include a variety of stations and your-choice building opportunities - sets, open build, tech table, craft, art and design section, indoor and outdoor active times each day, movie-making, special theme builds and brick challenges, games, and sensory focus areas. Come join us for a great summer of building fun and friendships! Lots to choose from: as always our activity weeks include open build, sensory tables, building challenges, art and craft stations, kindergarten readiness reinforcement, and inside/outdoor active time. All activity weeks held at Risen Christ Church. Covid safety rules followed.
As of June 1, 2020, we do not anticipate being able to run our camps at all during Summer 2020, even though the phases are gradually allowing for the re-opening of businesses and programs in Monroe County, NY. The council for the location we use, Risen Christ Church in Fairport NY, has made the decision that for the safety and health of all involved, running children's programs this summer at their facility has been deemed too risky in light of the stipulations and continuing concerns of the CDC, the ACA, and the governor/state regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
If this situation is re-evaluated and changes, or if we find another safe location and a way to run any brick programs, camps or special event days, we'll spread the word. But for now, given the young ages of our participants, how social our programs are, and how hands-on brick-building is, we are thinking that it is wisest to wait a little longer to get started again. We are sad, antsy, and we miss all our builders, but we are also okay with this, since keeping everyone healthy and safe are top priorities. Keep on going with good building at home, and send us pictures of what you make! Hope to see you before long, and also to make new building friends when we get a fresh start in the not too distant future. Play well, folks! And see you soon... As you already know, like all other kid-oriented scheduled summer plans, 31Bricks May-August camps are on hold until we hear when summer programs for kids in New York State, and in particular Monroe County, are allowed to resume activity.
We will start up again with a revised plan that we will post here and email to our regulars just as soon as we know what that will be. If we can do any camps or special events, we plan to stick with some variation on our already published themes, so if your builders have any favorites, let us know. We'll go with whichever themes seem to be most popular if given the chance... Stay healthy and sane and keep building!!!!!!! We have not yet either canceled nor changed our summer program plans but we anticipate that there will be some changes in the schedule. We will update when we know more from the governor and Monroe County about the amended school plans, and whether the summer will be used for make-up sessions, and when that is settled, we'll publish a new summer plan accordingly. We will try to put together programming that is based on whatever needs seem to be the highest. Thanks for your flexibility during this unprecedented time of uncertainty and sudden Plan B formulation...
SUMMER CAMP SCHEDULE Below is the schedule for preschool and school age summer camps. NEW!!!! Some of you have asked if your littles (PreK - about to start K) and your olders (graduates of K - age 11) can come at the same time. We will give that a try for one week in late August, where we can bring in both age groups of kiddos for joint camp. Some of their activities will be together and some will be separate based on age-appropriateness. For safety, size, and sanity reasons, our active brick break times (inside or outdoors) will be age-divided. It will all be fun and flexible! ;) Scroll down to see our COMBO camp.
